 Surrattsville H.S.

Meet the "New" (as of 2019) Foundation Board Members!

"As a Surrattsville Alum, it is my duty to serve on this board to maintain the historic memories for the SHS community.  As a student leader I proudly held the position as historian for the class of 2007, where I learned the value of recording memories. The SHS Foundation plays a huge role in being a great historic resource for the SHS community, which is why serving on the board is very important to me.”

Ta'Mya Harrison (07), President

“It is important for me to serve on the board because Surrattsville is where the bricks were laid to build my foundation of success. I was the class of 2007 Vice President. As Vice President the biggest lesson I learned was how to preserve. I love mentorship and giving back. With the legacy Henry created I believe me and fellow board members have what it takes to bring out the best in future hornets while ensuring their success is always at the forefront. Being the Communications Director of the Foundation allows me to use my talents while operating in my passion. Thank you Henry for this opportunity.”

Jontice Small (07), Communications Liaison/e-Notice Editor

“Serving on the Board for the Foundation is important to me because Surrattsville is very close to my heart. My time there as a student enriched me beyond the classroom. Being a Hornet, equipped me to be able to build the life I have today. It gave me the skills to be able to go and create the life I’ve always wanted and because of that I want to give back. As the Secretary for the Foundation I am able to do that and I enjoy doing so. I remember receiving a scholarship from the Foundation when I was a Senior and it was amazing that even once I left the walls of the school my community there would still be supporting me. I plan to extend that support for as long as possible by serving on the Foundation. ”

Rontanetta T. Gibson (11), Secretary
